After the Potluck, Don Moseman will speak on “Keeping Fit.” He is called “Walking Don” because he has walked across the United States twice, from Boston to San Francisco and from Mill Valley to Ventura, California then across the Southern States to Virginia, and another walk from Canada to Mexico once. His last 4,000-mile trek across the continent was at the young age of 65! His remarkable feats were written up in the San Francisco Chronicle Nov. 19, 2004. He will talk about how he turned his life around, his philosophy of life, his healthy diet and regimen, and his incredible journeys enduring 100-plus-degree desert heat, freezing snow in the New Mexico mountains, a tornado in Texas, the monotonous miles crossing the plains, and walking against traffic on the edge of two-lane highways. He will bring slides from his cross-country walks. This will be a very inspirational evening for everyone!Labels: events |
