SFVS event: Special Lecture “Stopping Cancer Before It Starts” by Dr. Michael Greger, M.D. Monday, April 25 at 7:00p.m. Free lecture followed by a reception. Location: IOA, 3600 Geary Boulevard
Dr. Greger, a popular speaker, will return to speak on “Cancer Proofing Your Body with Plant Foods.” Up to 70% of all cancer deaths are preventable through diet alone. In this dynamic and engaging multimedia presentation, Dr. Michael Greger reveals the top whole plant super foods that my block and even reverse tumor formation. Learn what free radicals and antioxidants really are and exactly how they work to protect your body from the ravages of aging, cancer and other chronic degenerative diseases. Profiling specific cancers such as breast and prostate, Dr. Greger shows how a phyto-nutrient rich plant based diet may be our best protection against the cancer epidemic.
This would be a great lecture to attend whether you are a vegetarian or not. It would also be a good one to bring your non-vegetarian friends and relatives to.
Dr. Greger is a general practitioner, specializing in vegetarian nutrition. He is author of Heart Failure; Diary of a Third Year Medical Student and has contributed to a number of books on veganism and food safety issues. Dr. Greger is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Agriculture and the Tufts University School of Medicine. He gained national recognition as Farm Sanctuary’s chief investigator on mad cow disease, he debated the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Direction before the FDA and was invited as an expert witness to defend Oprah Winfrey in the infamous “meat defamation trial.”
